Job Description
The Grand Haven Community Development District, located in Palm Coast Florida, seeks a full-time Community Maintenance Worker to provide field support to the Operations Department. Competitive salary and benefits package.
Job Requirements & Qualifications: 1-3+ years of experience in general maintenance preferred. Must possess excellent organizational skills, have the ability to multitask, and be able to work under pressure. Must have reliable vehicle and hand tools. Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
Job Description:
- Perform a variety of semi-skilled duties in the areas of concrete work, carpentry, painting, plastering, plumbing, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing, as assigned by Operations Manager or Field Supervisor.
- Semi-skilled and skilled manual work in the performance of laboring tasks and variety of maintenance and construction related work.
- Perform maintenance services and conduct minor repairs on buildings and equipment.
- Comply with established safety guidelines and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledgeable in the procedures required for work safety.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to adhere to prescribed routines and practices.
- Considerable knowledge of and ability to utilize materials, methods and equipment used in concrete and general maintenance work.
- Ability to carry out assignments with minimal instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and staff.
- Ability to work independently to carry out assignments to completion.
- Ability to perform duties with a professional and cooperative work ethic.
- Ability to climb, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights up to or exceeding 8 feet.
- Ability to work in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work flexible hours necessary for the efficient operations of the department.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift up to 80 pounds.
- While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is occasionally required to push and/or pull over 100 pounds.
- While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be exposed to heat or cold temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals, work near moving mechanical parts and electrical or fuel operated facilities and equipment.
Education, Experience and Training:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have reliable vehicle and hand tools.
- Requires 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
