Position Title and Summary

The Facility Maintenance individual will be responsible for overseeing the general condition of the facility and ensuring it is safe; if a problem is identified, this person will ensure that the problem is repaired.

Reports To

Shop Manager

Responsibilities

  • Maintain building and grounds to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations concerning waste treatment, resource conservation programs and other facility related environmental concerns.
  • May coordinate maintenance of facility-owned vehicles.
  • May coordinate maintenance of shop equipment (i.e. fork trucks, hoists, etc.).
  • Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
  • May develop preventive maintenance programs in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for maintenance operations.
  • Responsible for maintenance inside and outside of building.
  • May work on minor carpentry projects.
  • Clean, maintain and organize work area and all equipment.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and at least 2 years of experience in a related area.
  • Knowledge of machinery repair and maintenance including plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical, etc.
  • Possess the written, verbal, and interaction skills necessary to work both independently and cooperatively.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Basic PC Skills in a Windows environment - preferred
  • Forklift and hoist experience - preferred
  • Lockout/Tagout certified - preferred

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

  • Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to heights and high ladder climbing.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. regularly and more occasionally.
  • Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously.
  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require personal protective equipment including respiratory protection.
  • Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $34.00 per hour
