Facility Coordinator (Wellness Center) Job at YMCA of Greater Rochester
Under the direction of the Director, the Facility Coordinator ensures a positive engagement experience for all who enter the YMCA. This position is also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe facility and be available to support members. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure a positive initial engagement experience for all who enter the YMCA.
- Answer phone within three rings using the proper YMCA greeting, and take complete messages.
- Scan all membership ID cards and ensure membership is current.
- Engage prospective members and have the ability to sell memberships and programs.
- Efficiently and accurately answer questions and complaints from members and the general public both in person and over the telephone.
- Responsible for all monies received on assigned shift and ensures that they are accurately recorded and locked in the safe.
- Keep accurate, detailed records of all transactions, incident reports and other necessary documentation; reconciles all cash, check and charge transactions to balance shift report.
- Maintain a well-presented facility with a high level of responsiveness in regards to cleanliness and repair.
- Conduct Wellness Consultations and actively listen to members and respond promptly and appropriately.
- Be available to all members regardless of age, gender, race, socioeconomic status, lifestyle, or fitness level. Identify members who may be using unsafe or ineffective techniques and make helpful suggestions.
- Regularly check all equipment to ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness. Report equipment in need of repair to supervisor immediately, follow branch repair procedures, and post “out of order” sign on equipment.
- Clean bathrooms, offices, locker rooms, hallways and any other assigned areas by vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing and polishing as necessary.
- Adhere to all YMCA guidelines and expectations which includes but is not limited to providing safe sessions and responding to and reporting any accidents or incidents. Familiar with and carries out emergency procedures, building rules and regulations.
- Attend all required meetings and training.
- Maintain required certifications.
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.- Prior experience working in a high volume, member-focused environment.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, maturity and must be able to work independently.
- Must have working knowledge of all principles of Health & Fitness.
- Demonstrated ability to work with all ages of individuals and groups at all ability levels.
- Basic computer skills are essential.
- Must possess CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including demonstrating exercise movements, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Work indoors in normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes.
- May handle human body fluids and chemicals as part of the daily operational duties.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on a repetitive basis.
