Facility Cleaner

Scope of Role:

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, The Facility Cleaner performs general cleaning and maintenance in the building and grounds; Provide janitorial cleaning to include sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms/kitchens, removing trash and recycling. Performs related duties and general maintenance work as required.

We are looking for a self-motivated, detail oriented general cleaner with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform cleaning tasks which will include trash removal, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and restroom cleaning.
• Effectively and efficiently execute the cleaning plan for the building.
• Work productively with your ServiceMaster team members.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt responses to customer requests and concerns.
• Maintain housekeeping storage closets in proper supply level, organization and cleanliness.
• Replenish breakroom cleaning supplies, coffee and work with vending machine vendors on service calls.
• Perform special deep cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Provide day to day direction to junior team member.
• Event set up as needed, tables chairs, holiday décor.
• Assist with snow removal including shoveling and salting walkways as necessary.

Required Skills:

• Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills.
• Previous janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.
• Familiarity with common cleaning supplies and hand tools.
• Attention to detail.
• Friendly demeanor.

Equipment
Uses hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, and hand tools.

Qualifications

• Work history that demonstrates work ethic, dependability, and responsibility, and the ability and willingness to be at work daily, consistently.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as a member of a team.
• Physically able to be on your feet the entire shift and perform all tasks which include walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, crouching and lifting.
• Able to lift 35 lbs. and carry a 12 lbs.
