Our On-Site Services Division is supporting an innovative biopharmaceutical which develops immunotherapy products for cancer patients and its need for a Facilities Maintenance Technician. Our On-Site Division places highly skilled engineers, designers, project managers and other technical personnel with specific industry expertise and knowledge across disciplines to meet the needs of our clients.

This Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for supporting operations by ensuring that the building and equipment is properly maintained to support CMC and business objectives. This support includes performing building and equipment inspections, diagnosing problems, performing maintenance, or overseeing third party maintenance activities, and completing and reviewing GMP documents relating to equipment maintenance. The Facilities Technician will work closely with Manufacturing, Tech Ops and Quality Control / Quality Assurance personnel to ensure the facility is kept in a “inspection ready” condition.

Job Duties

  • Understanding core CMC goals and operations to ensure maintenance strategies mesh with stakeholder requirements
  • Overseeing and evaluating 3rd party equipment/building maintenance activities.
  • Hands-on performance of maintenance for a wide range of utility and equipment systems. Some work may be required in a clean room (gowning required)
  • Performing routine audit of building and equipment and ensuring timely repair.
  • Receiving, handling, and connecting/disconnecting compressed gases used for process equipment
  • Investigating equipment deficiencies using root cause analysis, creative problem-solving techniques, and technical expertise to identify and resolve causal factors.
  • Initiating and participating in deviations, CAPAs and change controls related to building and equipment repairs
  • Documenting and reviewing GMP maintenance activities
  • Assisting with building support services.
  • Perform building and equipment inspections to proactively identify maintenance needs.
  • Assist as needed with building maintenance related work orders, including overseeing 3rd party service providers
  • May perform minor carpentry, patching, painting, and other building services to ensure building is in an inspection ready state.
  • Provide building support services, such as setting up conference rooms, assisting with events, etc.
  • Respond to equipment emergencies after hours.
  • Perform or oversee maintenance on utility systems and manufacturing/laboratory. Some maintenance activities will be performed in a clean room.
  • Effectively align maintenance activities with stakeholder schedules to ensure the maintenance is performed before the due date and without disrupting the manufacturing schedule.
  • Perform all activities in compliance with applicable cGMP regulations, FDA, USP and ISPE guidelines
    • Organize and clearly document maintenance records
    • Assist in the future transition to a CMMS from the existing paper-based system
    • Participate in and/or initiate deviations, CAPA, and change control related to calibrations and maintenance
    • Champion GMP compliance and maintenance best practices to support a best-in-class maintenance program. Identify and recommend initiatives for continuous improvement
  • Change out compressed gases on process equipment
  • Monitor dry biowaste collection that is performed by others
  • Provide on-call emergency support as required.

*This is a first shift opportunity, Monday through Friday*

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Requires two years of relevant and progressive maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on maintenance experience.
  • A work-ethic centered on precision and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of working in a collaborative and team environment.
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with experience in effective troubleshooting of equipment deficiencies
  • Excellent partnering skills – able to collaborate with technical and non-technical staff across the organization.
  • Good understanding of complex utility, manufacturing and laboratory equipment
  • High energy, confident, gets things done, yet easy going personality
  • Must be available to respond to after-hours equipment emergencies on a scheduled rotational basis.
