Position Title: Facilities Maintenance Assistant
Division: Housing
Reports To: Facilities Maintenance Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing multiple repair and maintenance tasks which include, but not limited to carpentry work, painting, outdoor landscaping and general facility maintenance and repair of the buildings, grounds, and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Carpentry and general construction to include woodwork, sanding, and painting.

2. General plumbing to include toilets, faucets, and fix leaks.

3. Facility repairs to include doors, doorknobs, locks, broken tiles, and cabinets.

4. Outdoor maintenance to include landscaping, playground repairs, snow removal, and lawn mowing.

5. Electrical maintenance to include changing light bulbs and fixtures, replacing fuses, and fixing lighting receptacles.

Safety & Wellness:

1. Actively promotes safety and accident prevention within the workplace.
2. Reports any unsafe conditions, incidents and/or accidents immediately.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

GENERAL EXPECATIONS:

1. General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools).

2. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.

3. Working knowledge of Outdoor maintenance to include landscaping, playground repairs, snow removal, and lawn mowing.

4. Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION:
Experience and Skill Requirements: The following requirements and skills are considered essential:

Education/Skill Requirements:

• High School education or GED equivalent
• Two years maintenance field related experience.
• Must be able to pass background checks.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
