Position Summary:

Overall responsible for the engineering department, the engineering plant operation, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and the structural facility including landscaping, room renovation and snow removal. Interfaces with guest, owners, management, employees, suppliers and contractors.

Essential functions:

• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics
• Must have understanding of health and safety codes
• Knowledge of finances, budgeting, accounts payable, purchases, capital expenditures, and cost control
• Maintains engineering operational systems (listed under equipment used)
• Directs work assignments, schedules and coordinates projects within the engineering department and outside contractors
• Conducts interviews, hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, and disciplinary actions
• Implements and controls maintenance procedures and reports

Other Responsibilities:

• Promotes, sets and regulates departmental and Stein Eriksen Lodge standards, policies, and procedures
• Establishes relations with front of the house and back of the house personnel
• Monitors equipment and recommends repair/replacement
• Inspects engineering equipment and analyzes performance
• Maintains and inspects personnel maintenance scheduling and equipment
• Schedules department training
• Promotes pride and professionalism within the workplace
• Oversees engineering department

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

Five years or more management experience

Five years or more experience in engineering maintenance, strong knowledge of structural/electrical/mechanical engineering

Equipment Used:

Engineering systems include: boiler water heaters, water softeners, telephone, TV, vehicle maintenance system, chilled water cooling, kitchen, laundry, snow melt, EMS, and various associated hardware
