Job Title: Fabrication Shop Lead Welder
Location: Frazeysburg, OH
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Pay Rate: $30-$40/hr (Negotiable, dependent upon experience)
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Lead Fabricator to join our growing manufacturing facility that will serve as the company’s fabricating SME (Subject Matter Expert). This position is a key member of our Maintenance team that supports the company by fabricating new machine centers, modifying existing equipment, creating jigs, etc. Within this position you will be able to control your own destiny and serve as a resource to improve fabrication shops work flow, procedures, etc. This role has strong potential to become a Supervisor role within the department for the right person.
Candidates must be very experienced in all types of common fabricating methods and have a proven track record of being leading a fab shop and being a strong team player. Work scope includes fabricating from engineered drawings, designing and fabricating without drawings, creating simple CAD drawings, performing field installation, and supporting the maintenance team by assisting with preventive maintenance tasks, breakdowns, etc. This position will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of shop procedures, managing the work schedule, quality inspections, etc.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Provide support to the plant engineering and maintenance team by fabricating, modifying, or installing machines or machine components.
2. Must thrive in challenging environments and be experienced at using their fabrication knowledge and experience to solve complicated problems as quickly as possible.
3. Must possess or be capable of developing the ability to use Solidworks/AutoCAD
4. Good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
5. Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with production staff
6. Must be multi-talented, extremely flexible in work assignments
7. Willingness to integrate into a closely knit team and be self-motivated
8. Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. REQUIRED
1. Fifteen (15) years of fabrication experience
2. Seven (7) years of leadership experience
3. Two (2) years of experience shop management experience
4. Experience reading drawings
5. Expert at all basic forms of welding including Mig/Tig/Stick
6. Expert at methods to insure proper layout and fitment
7. Experience creating fixturing for manufacturing machines
8. Ability to identify and diagnose problems and implement corrective action
9. Strong Experience in Microsoft Office applications and other computer programs
10. Good applied interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
11. Ability to read and comprehend basic English and perform basic math functions including reading a tape measure
12. Ability to work from heights (Ladders, Aerial Lifts, Roofs, etc)
PREFERED
1. Experience operating Machining equipment like mills, lathes, etc
2. Experience using AutoCAD or Solidworks
3. Experience using a CMMS system to track work orders.
4. Knowledge of company safety, OSHA and department policies and procedures including Lock Out Tag Out
5. Experience assembling complex equipment including mechanical assemblies, sensors, etc
