The Experiential Graphic Designer will provide design, creativity, project management and support to the experiential marketing efforts within Global Marketing to bring the Burns & McDonnell family of brands to life within physical environments and create engaging experiences. Through developing office graphics, trade show experiences and other brand activations, this position will create a targeted and engaging branded experience for all clients, employees, recruits and all others who visit a Burns & McDonnell space. This position will be an in-office work environment at our World Headquarters in Kansas City.

  • Develop approved concepts for Burns & McDonnell experiential efforts. Aid in developing creative, strategic graphic solutions that are on-brand, on-time and on-budget.
  • Provide project management and coordination support for experiential design projects.
  • Produce production-ready experiential files and partner with graphics fabrication partners to see projects to completion.
  • Continued development and maintenance of the Branded Interiors Program.
  • Design development and strategy for the Conference and Trade Show Program.
  • Collaborate with Facilities team and other internal department to develop well-branded office environments.
  • Ensure brand guidelines are followed for brand consistency.
  • Effectively collaborate and work with a variety of team members both face to face and digitally.
  • Present design concepts and strategies to clients.
  • Contribute to creative "think tank" sessions for conference and trade shows, branded experiences and beyond
  • Conduct research before developing design concepts.
  • Follow established quality control processes.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a Bachelors in fine arts/graphic design or visual communication; minimum 3 years of related experience; and a portfolio supporting that background. Or candidate must have an Associates Degree in fine arts/graphic design or visual communication with at least 5 years experience.
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard graphic design and layout software (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) with comprehensive understanding of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Experience with large format printing and 3D rendering programs (e.g. SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with project management and vendor management is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams in person and virtually.
  • Strong conceptualization skills across print, digital and video.
  • Demonstrates ability to ideate and conceptualize multiple concepts
  • Demonstrates understanding of good layout principles
  • Understands and applies color theory and color relationships
  • Analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Strong visual proofing and error-checking skills.
  • Skill managing fast-paced deadlines for concurrent projects with various teams.
