Huffman Welding & Machine Inc. was established in 1971 by founder Bob Huffman and his wife, Rosie. His eldest son, Michael joined the business at the start. not too soon after, Bob’s second eldest son, Hank (Richard), joined the team followed by his youngest son, Bob Jr., and later adding his grandson, Jason. Together, the family has worked to produce quality products and services. The company continues expanding by adding new equipment and new employees all striving to provide superior service and more options to our customers.

Experience/Education/Skillsets Needed:

- Multiple years of fabrication experience and training

Job Requirements include:

- Work safely and follow all HWMI and OSHA safety requirements

- Efficient welding skills in SMAW, FCAW, GTAW in Carbon, Stainless and Aluminum

- Ability to be a lead fabricator on large fabrications and assemblies

o Ensure proper weld procedures, assembly procedures and final products are completed correctly

o Must have the ability to understand various fabrication techniques and what process is needed to complete projects in the most efficient manner

o Read Engineering Drawings and Prints and produce sketches of simple parts for engineers to duplicate

o Able to use all fabrication tools – plasma and cutting torch, grinders, tape measure, and layout tools (levels, combination square, scribes, plumb bob, wrap-o-round, centering head, sheet metal gauge, etc.)

o Drive a fork truck

o Work with machinists, sheet metal, and project managers to complete projects on-time and per quality standards and specifications

o Understand what it takes to keep the shop clean and efficient – understand how to keep work area clean and organized

- Lift 50 lbs and maneuver up to 100 lbs. without physical restrictions

- This is a 40 hour per week job with occasional mandatory overtime

- Exposure to heat and cold depending on weather conditions

Other Desirable (Not necessary) Skills include:

- Valid Driver’s License to Drive Company Vehicles to On-site jobs

- Ability to train and mentor welders/apprentice fabricators and train them in multiple disciplines of fabrication

- Efficient welding skills in:

o Brazing / Silver Soldering

- Automated equipment assembly integration --- assembly of various components in an efficient and correct manner that ensures proper function, alignment, etc.
Work on job sites – installation and repair of equipment / On-site fabrication and welding
