Job Description
The Executive Recruiter is seasoned professional with considerable experience conducting successful executive searches and provides end-to-end search firm level of service for high-profile positions. The incumbent will strategically consult with university leaders to understand how each position fits into the university’s mission and proactively build robust applicant pools through leverage of existing networks, active outreach, and relationship building. The Executive Recruiter will provide detailed support and an exceptional hiring experience to candidates, hiring managers, and search committee members utilizing tools and methods focused on best-practices that drive effective, fair and equitable searches.

- Consults with hiring managers and search committees to understand roles to be filled. Builds and executes proactive recruitment strategies to ensure robust, diverse pools of highly qualified reflective of best practices, compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws and university policies and guidelines. Collaborates with internal partners such as University Communications and Marketing to develop professional marketing materials (recruitment packets, position prospectus, advertisements, etc.). Builds and leverages relationships with potential candidates and generates excitement and interest in OHIO as an employer of choice and acts as candidates’ primary point of contact during the search.
- Provides support throughout the search process to the search committee and candidates. Manages all logistics of the search that may include, but are not limited to: scheduling meetings and interviews, arranging travel, agendas, coordinating supportive technology to accommodate hybrid and remote interviewing and open forums. Coordinates accommodations under the ADA for candidates as needed. Suggests and coordinates selection methodologies with the search committee and acts as a steward of search records in alignment with applicable records retention guidelines and regulations. May develop and delivery search committee or other trainings in support of the search process to comply with university guidelines.
- Analyzes candidate’s application materials and conducts interviews to asses candidate qualifications; provides thorough candidate profiles to search committee. May screen and exclude applicants based upon minimum qualifications. Coordinates and conducts all social media, background and reference checks. Compiles and summarizes search committee’s evaluations of candidates for search committee chairs and hiring managers. May negotiate and/or extend job offers and notify applicants of rejection. Coordinates on-boarding with the hiring manager and the UHR Employee Service Center.
- May act as the university’s liaison to outside partners, such as executive search firms, for services related to executive and high-profile searches. Manages all logistical aspects of such relationships internally ensuring top-notch service, compliance with federal, state, local and University laws, regulations, policies and guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
May indirectly supervise and direct administrative support personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years independently conducting leadership and/or executive level searches.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Pay Rate
Target salary range is $80,593 – $100,000. The full range of paygrade 20 is $80,593-$138,208 and final offer will be based upon the candidate’s education and experience.
