The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is seeking an Executive Office and Board Affairs Liaison for our Executive department. The Executive Office and Board Affairs Liaison works closely with the President & Director of the Natural History Museum and provides advanced support and project management services to the Executive Office of the Museum and the Board of Trustees. It is an exciting time as we embark on new journeys of becoming a museum of, for, and with L.A.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

This position operates under general direction, has independent decision-making responsibility and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment.

Professionalism, diplomacy, tact, attention to detail, keeping information confidential and a high level of independent initiative is required to fulfill this position.

Gathers data for general information purposes or special reports, contacting other departments, employees and external parties for needed information and drafts, as requested.

Acts as the liaison between the Executive Office of the Museum and the Museum’s Board of Trustees and its Board of Governors, maintaining a positive rapport with both Boards.

Acts as a project liaison for initiatives, directives, and action items instituted by the President & Director and the Boards by managing timelines, deadlines, implementation of schedules, reports, information, communication and all other project needs as they arise.

Coordinates committee meetings of the Board of Trustees with setting up logistics, meeting rooms, meals, agendas, taking minutes and all aspects of the meetings and event management.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President & Director.
This position has the following requirements:
Experience working for a Chief Executive Director and Board of Directors is highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Must act with integrity and an ability to carry oneself with the demeanor, decorum and professionalism needed for the position and its interaction with others.
Must possess the highest levels of intellectual, interpersonal and customer service skills in order to perform with diplomacy, tact and confidentiality required to work with the President/Director, Board of Trustees/Board of Governors and other political, corporation and philanthropic leaders.
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication.
Ability to write reports, business/professional correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to work well and communicate effectively cross-departmentally.
Familiarity with updating online content is a plus.

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is seeking applicants who have demonstrated experience and commitment working with a diverse community. Salary range for this position is $60,721 - $65,291 per annum with experience plus excellent benefits. This is a full time regular, exempt position.
