About the Position
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of HR Operations and Service Delivery, the Executive Director of HR Technology is responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide HR Technology strategy and operations for Mass General Brigham. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and delivering on a strategic HR systems roadmap, managing vendor relationships and implementing, enhancing, and maintaining a full suite of HR systems and integrations across Mass General Brigham for all employee life cycle activities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive HR Technology strategy for the Enterprise; oversee the implementation of an HR Technology roadmap, including prioritization of key systems to support business and organization goals.
  • Set up HR Technology governance programs, including intake and prioritization through delivery, to ensure on-scope, on-time delivery of technical solutions.
  • Maintain a point of view on Digital HR technology trends and advise HR Leadership on innovative solutions in both core and emerging technologies to bring the full suite of Digital HR Technology capabilities to our HR function and business.
  • Translate project proposals into business use-cases that clearly outline staffing needs, project costs, timelines and business benefits.
  • Provide oversight to project efforts, including integrations of HR technology third party vendor applications, through evaluation, design, configuration, implementation and testing phases to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Own and manage all vendor relationships and partnerships, including negotiations, to deliver on roadmaps, strategies and service commitments.
  • Manage annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting through portfolio prioritization, sourcing planning, financial planning, technical strategies, and roadmap development
  • Ensure overall risk and security compliance are appropriate with back-up and recovery and business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to a team of 30+ employees to ensure that normal operations are running smoothly while fostering an environment of problem-solving and improved Digital practices, that attracts and retains talent.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and partner collaboratively with team, key partners and stakeholders.

Primary HR Technology portfolio includes: PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, Taleo, HealthStream, and Blue Prism. Will be moving to Workday in 2024. Other key systems: Kronos, HireRight, Skill Survey and OnBase.


  • Bachelors degree in related discipline and 12+ years of experience; or a Masters degree in related discipline and 10+ years of experience; or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Proven supervisory experience leading multi-platform HR Technology teams in large complex organizations required.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Workday and ServiceNow
  • Working knowledge of system integrations and APIs
  • Exposure to Blue Prism and integrating modern automations into core process and services advantageous.
  • Strong management and organizational skills with demonstrated experience measuring progress against goals and achieving stated outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively build strong relationships with team, customers, colleagues and third parties.
  • Ability to be agile and comfortable managing through shifting and competing priorities.
  • Requires minimal direction from leadership and possesses the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pace and deadline-driven atmosphere.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) with all levels of the organization
