Executive Director Position
Reports to Board of Directors
Full Time Exempt
The Executive Director (ED) for Fairy Godmother Project serves as the organizational leader responsible for overseeing the organizational compliance, financials, programs, staff and for the execution of the mission of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The ideal candidate must be comfortable being the face of Fairy Godmother Project in the community. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
- Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals
- Develop and cultivate the organizational culture
- Actively engage and energize staff members, volunteers, board members, event committees, , partnering organizations, and funders
- Develop, maintain, communicate with, and support a strong Board of Directors: serve as ex-officio of each committee, seek and build board involvement with strategic direction
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to identify, create and implement strategic plans to meet organizational goals and objectives.
- Ensure retention of staff
- Develop and Maintain performance benchmarks and tools
- Recruit and retain volunteers
- Maintain a professional and positive image when representing FGP
Fundraising & Public Engagement:
- Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations. and potential new operations or services
- Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand
- Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities
- Identify potential funding streams, nurture and expand existing.
Program Development:
- Maintain and expand current Board approved programs
- Collaborate with outside organizations. i.e. Hospice, Local Hospitals, Physician Practices, and any other organization that supports our mission to improve programs and resources
- Nurture partnerships with community and political leaders.
Fiscal Oversight:
- Responsible for fundraising and developing other revenues necessary to support the mission.
- Responsible for the fiscal integrity of FGP to include submission to the Board a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
- Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
- Responsible for approval of all expenditures.
Qualifications:
The ED will be thoroughly committed to FGP's mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree minimum, or advanced degree preferred
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
- Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
- Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
- Previous experience in writing and obtaining grant funding preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
- Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self directed
- High level of emotional intelligence and an ability to professionally manage difficult situations while being both empathetic and compassionate.
- Actively engaged in the community FGP serves.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
