Executive Chef

Position Summary:

Responsible for the quality of food produced by Nutrition Services department. Will develop, upgrade, expand and prepare current café retail, patient room service and in-house catering menus.

Responsibilities:

• Will develop staff to prepare these new offerings
• Mentors, trains and supervises the cooks and other appropriate employees Emphasis on the use of whole foods and cook from scratch preparation
• Maintains competence to perform all tasks of line positions and work line positions as needed
• Assures all food is handled safely and food handling practices meet regulatory requirements
• Contributes to the department’s positive financial performance and participates in budgeting process
• Utilizes expertise to participate in pricing, contract agreements and cost containment
• Participates in establishing customer service standards and contributes to achieving those standards
• Participates in departmental strategic planning in terms of food service
• Proficient in the use of all equipment related to production of food and superior customer service
• Maintains, promotes and enforces HAACP program in assigned areas including proper storage and temperature maintenance, time and task schedules and cleaning schedules
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates in related field preferred
• 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified required
• ACF and ServSafe Certification required
• Idaho Food Code Card required

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs
• Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
  
• Typical equipment used in a clinical job
