Executive Assistant to the Town Manager
The Opportunity
The Town of Mansfield, Connecticut, is seeking a conscientious, highly motivated, and dynamic individual to serve as the next Executive Assistant to the Town Manager. This position is accountable for providing administrative office support of a confidential and complex nature to the Town Manager’s Office. This position reports directly to the Town Manager. Duties include:
Typing, filing, preparing correspondence, report writing, troubleshooting by relieving town manager of as much administrative detail as possible, processing, arranging and coordinating meetings, and office management. The complete job description is available of the Town’s Human Resources website.
To qualify, the successful candidate will have graduated from high school or passed the General Educational Development (GED) certification examination and have five (5) years’ experience above the routine clerk level in office support or administrative work. One (1) year of the General Experience must have been as an Administrative Assistant or its equivalent. College training in the administrative support sciences may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of 15 semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of two (2) years.

The Total Compensation
The annual salary range of the Executive Assistant is $56,710.08 - $67,538.00 with an extremely competitive benefits package. Mansfield participates in the Connecticut Municipal Employees Retirement System (CMERS), a defined pension plan, and provides a variety of other ancillary benefits such as medical, vision, dental, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, tuition assistance, and paid vacation and holidays. Town of Mansfield employees work a 35-hour work week. Some evening work may be required.
