Job Description
  • Oversees all Events staff including housepersons, bartenders, servers, and captains
  • Prepares for the weekly events by requisitioning product needed based on event orders
  • Attends daily/weekly meetings as a representative of the events operations team
  • Oversees events and ensures the execution is seamless and accurate
  • Runs multiple events simultaneously while providing equal service to each group
  • Verify/input consumption and post banquet checks
  • Trains new heartists to meet service standards and expectations
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of event storage/bar areas
  • Consistently provides professional, friendly and Forbes standard service
  • Makes management decisions in the best interest of hotel and the guest
  • Owns and follows up on requests from clients, guests, and heartists
  • Holds events heartists accountable to Accor and Fairmont Century Plaza service standards
  • Supports Events Director and Managers in all aspects of operations and team direction
  • Manages labor in conjunction with Collective Bargaining Agreement guidelines, optimizing productivity and coverage
  • Make updates to heartist schedules as needed based on pop-ups or event changes to ensure each shift has the proper coverage

Qualifications
  • Well developed management skills with an emphasis in Food and Beverage operations
  • Previous Events Operations experience with a minimum one year in a supervisor role
  • Union property experience required
  • Strong cross functional team player
  • Responsive, with a sense of urgency
  • Consistent follow through
  • Provides elevated guest service
  • In-depth food and beverage knowledge with a strong focus on presentation
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple groups/events simultaneously
  • Basic computer skills such as Outlook, Word, Excel. Any experience with Opera, Dayforce, Unifocus, Avero, Evention, and Silverware highly preferred.
