Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.

It is anticipated that, following the conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Job Description: Manages ESG data coordination, disclosure preparation, and reporting across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • ESG priority topics assessment – Leads the execution of the company’s Priority Topic Assessment (PTA), also known as materiality assessment, to identify ESG issues that are the most critical to achieving business objectives and delivering social impact, engaging with key internal and external stakeholders
  • ESG disclosure & reports – Prepares mandatory and voluntary ESG-related disclosure drafts including the completion of ESG reports ( Healthy Lives Mission Report) and ESG rating agency responses ( MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.) that comply with the relevant mandatory and voluntary ESG-related disclosure frameworks. Engages with key corporate functions and oversight bodies for approval of ESG disclosures
  • ESG process & controls – Collaborates with the key process owners throughout the organization to support the operation of controls for ESG reporting, aligning processes to relevant control frameworks ( COSO)
  • Audit and assurance – Support coordination of internal verification processes to validate completeness and accuracy of report data and supports external assurance providers for ESG-related data as required
  • Sustainability insights support – Translates ESG data into business insights Drafts ESG reports for business reviews and strategy decisions for use by internal stakeholders (senior leadership team and board of directors)

Key Working Relationships - Works closely with the following key functions on ESG data and reporting:

    • General Counsel/Legal/Corporate Secretary – ESG reporting and disclosures before publication
    • Finance/Controllership – ESG-related disclosures within the SEC filing
    • Data & technology – IT systems and architecture for ESG data collection and reporting

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience leading ESG reporting
  • 8+ years of experience leading public company reporting efforts (financial or nonfinancial)
  • ESG data analysis/reporting expert, experienced with ESG reporting technology platforms
  • Experience with ESG reporting standards ( GRI, SASB)
  • Experience supporting ESG audit preparedness
  • 3+ years of consumer experience
  • Experience working for a global organization and across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups ( investors)
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field ( communication, legal, sustainability, finance/CPA)

Preferred Requirements/Competencies :

  • Knowledge of product and consumer ESG-related disclosure requirements
  • Experience working with ESG-related data software systems
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, strong emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
