SUMMARY: Loan Escrow Processing and various other collateral related loan functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Job requires no teller capabilities; this job does include maintenance capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain mortgage, consumer and commercial escrow accounts including:
    • Tax collector verification
    • Escrow account analysis functions
    • Escrow account maintenance
    • Initial statement processing
    • Opening and closing of escrow accounts
    • Pay escrow items including homeowner’s insurance, mortgage insurance, USDA annual fees and taxes.
  • Obtain tax notices if tax collector or customer does not submit them to us on their own. Taxes should be paid within the discount period if at all possible. Obtain duplicate bill if needed from Tax collector and pay duplicate bill fee.
  • Complete annual escrow analysis for each account. Analyze variances to determine appropriate adjustments. Notify customers accordingly.
  • Back up forced place insurance tracking and real estate insurance tracking.
  • Reconcile and process various insurance items such as MGIC.
  • Track primary mortgage insurance.
  • Manage loan coupon book orders and supplies.
  • Assist with testing of updates to the DNA Core banking system.
  • Review various reports such as Escrow reports, Mortgage Termination Report, Loan Exceptions, etc.
  • Provides access to the Collateral Vault.
  • Assumes additional duties as required.
  • Maintains current knowledge of and adheres to the BSA policy.

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good understanding of financial institution products and services essential.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Possesses good organizational skills, the ability to read and interpret reports, and works quickly and efficiently while providing the utmost accuracy and attention to detail.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest, etc.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
