Overview: Customer Care is our client’s first and last contact with the practice. Customer Care is responsible for providing excellent client service by directing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and providing support to the veterinary team.

Who are we looking for? The ideal candidate has customer service experience with a working knowledge of horses and the veterinary field with the ability to multi-task.

Wage and Benefits: $17-$20 per hour, benefits include medical, dental, vision, supplemental options with 401k match after 6 months, competitive PTO accrual, employee discount, and continued education stipend. Full benefit package available upon request with complete application.

Starting Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming telephone calls utilizing proper telephone etiquette. Provide knowledgeable sub-professional advice concerning the care and treatment of horses including questions regarding hospital services, fees, animal care and treatment in accordance with clinic policies. Appropriately direct other quests and communication to veterinarians, Board Liaison, or other staff members
  • Professionally interacts with clients verbally and in written communication. Checks clients in for in clinic appointments and communicates with the appropriate staff member. Relays delays in appointment times when necessary.
  • Maintains an effective veterinarian appointment schedule, screening emergencies and prioritizing cases as required
  • Keeps front reception area a clean and positive area
  • Professional and accurate verbal and written communication with referral veterinarians

Education/Experience
: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors or Associate degree preferred. Three to five years experience in a veterinary clinic, medical office or related is highly desirable.


Language Ability
: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Math Ability
: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as drug doses, dilutions, percentages, rate, ratio and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, add subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Computer Skills: Computer literacy in common computer software programs. Ability to gain proficiency using HVMS. Experience in computer and office equipment troubleshooting desirable.
