Columbus Public Health has 2 openings for an Epidemiologist!
Under general direction, is responsible for surveillance of disease and environmental hazards and for the coordination of public health activities in the assessment and control of endemic, epidemic, and environmental incidents.
These positions will focus on community health assessment work, with an emphasis on behavioral and social (e.g., community trauma, race/ethnicity, violence) factors impacting health. This involves investigating, reporting on, and integrating data on outcomes and their drivers. This work supports programs within CPH, as well as community partners. This position has responsibility to describe the distribution of outcomes and their risk factors, identifying where disparities exist; detect, control, and prevent major health problems; explain and communicate health and social-related risks; and to recommend actions to prevent and control threats to the public's health.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a bachelor's degree and completion of one (1) year of graduate level coursework in public health, preventive medicine, environmental sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, or other closely related coursework (thirty (30) semester/forty-five (45) quarter credit hours equals one (1) year).

Pay: $29.93 - $41.17 per hour
