The Expanding Computing Education Pathways (ECEP) Alliance
is a National Science Foundation funded project managed by EPIC which is dedicated to these endeavors through state level systems change.

Purpose
The position will develop and implement a strategic communication plan supporting EPIC’s mission of increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in computer science education and targeting a broad range of stakeholders including K-12 educators, corporate partners, and policymakers.
Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic marketing and public relations initiatives for EPIC programs and the ECEP Alliance.
  • Develop and manage strategic engagement plans for current and prospective funders and key stakeholders by creating marketing materials and supporting relationship management.
  • Manage design and production of ECEP and EPIC collateral, ensuring consistent brand identity across all products. Manage external consultants as necessary and coordinate with the TACC Communications, Marketing, and Design (CMD) team.
  • Highlight equity-focused ECEP accomplishments at the state and national level via website news articles, infographics, project briefs, social media, and quarterly profiles of ECEP states. Write and design an ECEP Annual Report highlighting key accomplishments across the Alliance.
  • Oversee updates to ECEP Alliance and EPIC websites, working with TACC web design team to ensure the websites remain timely, accurate, and accessible.
  • Manage marketing of tools, events, and resources to the Broadening Participation in Computing national community and media.
  • Support EPIC evaluation team in design and publication of EPIC Annual Report, infographics, and other collateral highlighting the impact of EPIC.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
  • Five years of professional or relevant experience in marketing and/or public relations for educational organizations or non-profits with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Fluency in culturally-responsive communications with the ability to reflect the experiences of people and communities with diverse backgrounds.
  • Portfolio of writing, publications, and marketing skills
  • Working knowledge of K-12 educational systems and national initiatives which focus on broadening participation, especially in computer science and STEM fields.
  • Demonstrated project management, and writing skills, including strategic project planning and project implementation and proficiency in computer applications for strategic communications and marketing. Willingness to learn new applications as needed.
  • Experience with donor and member relationship management.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and initiatives and communicate effectively with both internal and external partners.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in higher education or K-12 public education with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Examples within your portfolio of content that addresses diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with design standards and resources including accessibility standards, desktop publishing, html, website management, and virtual meeting systems.
  • Fluency in graphic design, videography, and photography.
  • Experience in STEM education project management and marketing in multi-partner, collaborative projects.
Salary Range
$80,000 + depending on qualifications

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
