Environmental Services Evening Manager

General: Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing specific services. Responsible for fiscal management, performance improvement activities, and compliance with all relevant policies/procedures and regulations. Manages all aspects of personnel processes. Communicates information effectively. Ability to make timely decisions and manage change process. Must interface with all departments as part of the management team. Specific: Responsible for oversight of environmental services and laundry - in the areas of team member job performance, scheduling, training, quality assurance and inventory control. Operates all environmental services equipment, ability to fill in all positions if needed. All members of the Leadership Team who need to use a phone for business purposes must use a personal cell phone. EVS Manager with oversight of the evening and night shifts. Requirements:

• Will consider candidate with five years relevant experience.Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds, training and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with planning, organizing, and supervising the various functions and activities of the housekeeping and laundry departments in order to maintain a sanitary, attractive and orderly hospital environment and to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Schedules and manages housekeeping and laundry functions and activities; sets- up departmental routines; prepares and posts schedules; coordinates activities with other departments so as to provide optimal service with as little disruption to patient care and other activities. Maintains inventory of materials, supplies and equipment and prepares requisitions for replacement of items; inspects departmental equipment for proper functioning and orders repair maintenance as needed; ensures that chemical/cleaning agents meet required standards to effect maximum cleanliness and sanitation.
• Tours hospital environment regularly, covering each assigned area to observe staff and determine compliance with instructions and quality of work; ensures that all safety, health, infection control and safety requirements are met. All tours are documented.
• Fills in work schedules as needed. Performs routine floor work assignments.
• Completes projects as assigned.
