Highway Materials, Inc. is a producer of Construction Aggregates and Hot Mix Asphalt products in Eastern Pennsylvania, with nine asphalt plants and five quarries to service our customers, from Franklin County in the West to Northampton County in the North and Philadelphia County in the Southeast. Established in 1936, HMI has been a leader in the construction materials supply industry for 80 years. We produce asphalt paving materials and crushed stones that meet the specifications of AASHTO, Penn DOT, NJDOT, and FAA. Additionally, we are distributors of Geotextiles and various specialty paving products.
Currently, we have an immediate opening for a results-oriented individual experienced in above ground mine planning, permitting and asphalt plant permitting and compliance.
The right candidate will be a self-starter, well-versed in the PA, and DEP issues that pertain to the day-to-day operations of both quarries and asphalt plants.
Job Duties:

- Responsible for the environmental permitting and compliance work of five quarries and nine asphalt plants
- Develop systems for inventory control, mine planning, and reserve calculation
- Conduct water monitoring and testing for multiple sites including mine reclamation fill.
- Candidates must have the ability to do long-term planning and assist the operations department in obtaining its goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or Geology
- Minimum of 3 years experience or a combined mining, permitting (PA DEP preferred).
- Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
