We are currently seeking an Environmental Land Planner focused on utility scale energy generation and transmission industry. This position will perform environmental data collection and reporting to facilitate siting and certification of energy related projects throughout Florida and the Southeast region. The position will work closely with a team of professionals to accomplish tasks in fast paced environment to see projects through the life certification from form inception through close out.
Responsibilities:
- Collection of publicly available data in order to prepare due diligence reports related to environmental constraints of siting and certifying renewable energy projects and transmission/distribution lines.
- Work closely as a team member leading local government approvals of CUPs/SUPs for solar facilities.
- Assist in securing permits and approvals for energy projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Studies or other related majors OR have 2 years direct project Experience with projects approvals of utility scale solar or linear projects.
- Knowledge of wetland delineations or listed species surveys is also very helpful including Gopher Tortoises, Scrub Jays, Sand Skinks, Burrowing Owls and other species.
- The position requires good verbal communication and coordination skills.
- The successful applicant will self-motivated and a team player with good communication skills
- Must be willing to work outdoors in the Florida Climate year-round.
- Preference will be given to candidates with past experience with listed species survey protocols, knowledge of Florida upland and wetland plants and their respective communities.
- A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
