Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is looking for an experienced and motivated Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our team.

As the Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for reducing environmental and safety risks within our manufacturing environment. You will also monitor satellite accumulation and hazardous waste storage areas and oversee the inspection and testing of EHS protective systems. In this role, you will execute key elements of our EHS program in a manner that ensures compliance with external regulations and internal directives, while building strong relationships with key internal client groups.

We are seeking a self-starter who can work under general direction to develop, implement, and monitor programs that drive year-over-year improvements in our environmental and safety performance. The successful candidate will have a passion for creating a safer and more sustainable world and will bring a high level of expertise in EHS to our team.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of three years industrial manufacturing experience, including but not limited to:
  • Program development and management, e.g. ISO 14001, SPCC, VPP, IH sampling
  • Permitting, e.g. air emissions, waste water, storm water
  • Reporting, e.g. SQG hazardous waste, SARA reporting
  • EHS Training, e.g. Coordination, development, and training
  • Investigation, e.g. employee, property, and equipment incidents
  • Inspection, e.g. Safety and environmental compliance (Gemba)
  • Regulatory and EHS Management System proficiency
  • OSHA, EPA, and DOT; and
  • ISO 14001, ISO 45001, VPP or similar
• Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies
• Candidates with current OSHA training preferred:
  • Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response standard (HAZWOPER); and
  • Occupational Health and Safety Standards for General Industry
• Willingness to travel
