POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Site Manager works with Operations Managers, Engineering Managers, Area Managers, and Production Technicians to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and coordinates all training related activities for the site. The individual works directly with the Janicki Industries EHS team to ensure consistency with company policies and to establish a positive safety culture at Janicki Industries. The individual will possess excellent program knowledge as well as environmental and ergonomic knowledge and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations. A successful EHS Site Manager will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments, data analysis, and training. This position will also act as the Facilites Security Officer (FSO), working with all levels of employees within the company to ensure compliance with internal, local, state, and federal regulations.

The following essential job functions are performed as a EHS Site Manager:

  • Works closely with Operations management at assigned site to effectively manage safety at JI.
  • Monitors processes for adherence to OSHA, EPA, UOSH, and Utah DEQ guidelines.
  • Analyzes data, prepares reports, communicates to senior management, assigns and tracks corrective actions.
  • Conducts job hazard analysis and ergonomics evaluations of new and legacy production processes.
  • Works with operations to ensure full compliance with all federal, state, local, and company EHS regulations.
  • Facilitates workplace safety incident reporting and leads team approach on investigation.
  • Conducts root cause analysis of EHS related incidents.
  • Promotes EHS awareness through internal correspondence, specific training programs and company communication boards.
  • Manages relationships with workers compensation, medical resources, and employees.
  • Provides support for Safety Programs, to include: Energy Control, Fall Protection, Ergonomics, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Crane and Forklift operations, etc.
  • Must be capable of maintaining high level of confidentiality.
  • Consults with department managers, supervisors and subject matter experts to assist with training needs, including participating in audits.
  • Develops and tracks effectiveness of training programs. Monitors adherence to the established training programs to ensure standard work in the training programs.
  • As needed, assists in material creation for new training programs in collaboration with department managers or subject matter experts.
  • Develops and maintains training communications such as bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training events.
  • Coordinates materials, schedules, and instructors for New Employee Orientation.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for the performance management and training tracking system requirements.
  • Is the site Facilities Security Officer (FSO) performing security specialist duties. This includes, but is not limited to, processing clearance applications, maintaining security clearance files, security training, compliance with National Industrial Security Program, Administer/manage local CUI compliance program, and manage local insider threat program.
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 4-year college degree preferred, or minimum of 4 years prior industry experience related to this role.
  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a DoD Secret clearance with NACLC investigation; will be subject to government security investigations/reinvestigations as necessary and must meet additional eligibility requirements for accessing classified information as required.
  • Must be highly confidential and keep classified information safe.
  • Must have extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Tools including but not limited to Word, Power Point, Excel, and Publisher.
  • Must have good personal skills, be highly organized and energetic.
  • Must be able to speak in front of groups.
  • Must have strong data management skills.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Salary range for this role is between $68,000 - $110,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
