We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative Environmental Data Specialist to join our team. This position also includes the potential to work remotely. The Environmental Data Specialist will work closely with a team of staff engineers and scientists on challenging and exciting projects. This is a fast-paced and dynamic position, with opportunities to be challenged, contribute to project outcomes, interact routinely with project collaborators, and grow professionally.

Essential Functions-What You Will Do

  • Support fast-paced site development projects, environmental investigations, remediation projects, and solid waste projects.
  • Assist in management of field and laboratory analytical data in accordance with project specific work plans, quality assurance project plans (QAPPs), sampling and analysis plans (SAPs), and/or regulatory permits and standards.
  • Communicate and coordinate with project staff and analytical laboratories, review field documentation and laboratory data, and generate tables and charts for project deliverables.
  • Work with data management/analytical software (EQuIS®, R, Python, SQL, and/or Microsoft Power Suite®) to upload data to the project database, and retrieve, analyze, and present environmental data.
  • Use advanced statistical methods to analyze large data sets and develop programmatic methods (e.g., R, Python) to review field data and laboratory reports for compliance with project objectives and consistency with historical data (e.g., anomalies/data outliers, laboratory QA/QC nonconformances, etc.).
  • Develop or assist in the development of scripts (e.g., R, Python) for statistical and graphical analysis.

Competencies-What We Are Looking For

  • 0 to 3 years of experience with a BS in geology, environmental science, engineering, environmental chemistry, computer science, data analytics, geographic information sciences, or another closely related STEM field. A problem-solving mindset and strong desire to learn about the investigation and cleanup of environmental contamination is a must.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills are required and practical experience with programming languages (e.g., R and Python) is recommended.
  • Experience with advanced statistical methods and data management software (e.g., SQL, EQuIS®), ArcGIS®, Microsoft Power Suite®, and/or dashboarding is a plus.
