Entry Writer Customs Job at ALLIANCE SHIPPERS
Position Summary: The Customs Entry Writer Level 1 must be able to follow processes as well as input accurate data into our operational system. An understanding of basic import transactions, and the ability to accurately and efficiently process entries and Security Filings.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow as outlined by the manager; including completing brokerage and other documentation preparation for entry file, processing data to clear US Customs, and filing ISF for Ocean Shipments.
- Accurate and timely data entry into the operating system. This applies to entry, delivery, and billing using knowledge of PGA filing when required such as FDA, USDA, and Fish & Wildlife.
- Have a working knowledge of Incoterms, Customs regulations, and logistics terminology ensuring to follow government guidelines for OGA so that procedures are followed for specific shipments.
- Assist with verification of Customs Declaration information and ensure all documents required to submit entries is received from the client.
- Communicate timely with the client relating information and ensure all documents required to submit entries is received from the client.
- Prepare and file Importer Security Filings handling all FDA/USD entries including rating commercial invoicing with proper Classification/HTS codes.
Essential Skills, Education, and Experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task strongly desired.
- Maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer service including effective communication both verbal and written.
- At least 1-year industry related experience is required.
Non-Essential Skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
- Work effectively and productively with others.
- The proven desire to learn and expand knowledge in the industry.
