ENTRY LEVEL ENGINEER - Mechanical
The entry-level engineer (Associate Engineer) work experience focuses on accelerated exposure to the pulp & paper manufacturing facility & processes through rotation in the major process areas for the first 18 months of work. Performs engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. This is an entry level position, typically with little or no practical experience. Working under direct supervision, performs detailed or routine engineering assignments. Receives training and development in various phases of engineering work. Performs a variety of tasks such as the preparation of simple plans, designs, calculations, costs and bills of material in accordance with established codes, standards and drawings.
Focus on Safety, Productivity, Cost and other high priorities in operating unit.
Key leadership in specified areas (manufacturing, reliability, etc).
Provide technical guidance.
Resolve operating issues, improve process stability, and evaluate improvement opportunities.
Maintain linkage to mill Quality issues and support implementation as needed.
Primary contact with outside technical resources.

- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum GPA of 2.75
- 6 months’ work experience as a co-op in an industrial location preferred
- Oral and written communication skills, to communicate technical material across the mill and to outside resources
- Willing & able to meet demands of a 24/7 operation
- Basic Economics
