Mission
EdAdvance is one of Connecticut's six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs). Our mission as the RESC in western Connecticut to is to promote the success of area school districts and their communities. EdAdvance is also a partner in the RESC Alliance and works collaboratively with the other RESC groups to support state-wide initiatives. In addition, EdAdvance operates five specialized school programs for students who are requiring educational placement outside of their district.

Enrichment Instructor
Reports to: Enrichment Program Associate and Director of Adult & Continuing Education
Part Time, Academic year, Class time TBD, mostly evenings
Non-Exempt
EdAdvance-Litchfield, Falls Village (HVRHS), Winsted (NWRHS), Woodbury MS, Pomperaug HS, Watertown HS, Torrington HS or online
$20-$26.50 per hour
Position is open until filled / Anticipated start date is September 1, 2022

Job Description: EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to provide general interest enrichment classes for the department of Adult Continuing Education. The qualified candidate will be professional, organized, and able to work independently. Enrichment Instructors offer a wide variety of short term course in arts & crafts, computers, finance, home improvement, languages, music & dance, personal development, and recreation & leisure.

Job Summary: Present class sessions in their area of specialty in person or online for the general public. Prepare appropriate materials and experiences

Major Responsibilities:

• Deliver the class in person or online at the dates and times mutually agreed upon
• Start and end class on time
• All other duties requested by management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Training or experience appropriate for class content
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Zoom or other online platforms if using remote delivery

Qualifications :

• Applicants will submit a complete course proposal including short biography that demonstrates experience and expertise in their subject area.
• Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions: Classes are held in multiple locations (EdAdvance-Litchfield, Falls Village, Winsted, Woodbury, Southbury, Watertown, and Torrington High School in classrooms designated by the site coordinator or online Necessary technology will be supplied on request, including Zoom hosting by EdAdvance if necessary. Instructors may require the purchase of texts or other materials by customers.

Selection Procedure: Interested instructors need to complete a Course Proposal application which is reviewed by the site coordinator. New courses must be approved by the director or adult education.
