The Engineering Technician I provide engineering support to all divisions and departments of the company. Gathers, organizes, and analyzes data for capital projects and company reports. Maintains current distribution maps, fire hydrant records and all drafting support services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Support Engineering & Planning Develop water main replacements, construction and detour plans, material lists, bid forms, secures local and county soil erosion approvals, and assists with contract preparation and execution.
- Review plans for all water main replacements, extension and state relocation projects, project cost estimate and material lists, and package preparation for contractors
- Ensure fire hydrant approvals are received for all new contracts and maintain fire hydrant records for all divisions
- Assist all divisions with inspections and pre-construction meetings
- Performs other assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree or Technical Equivalent
- 2-4 Years of Related Experience
- Experience leading a team of professionals
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- AutoCAD GIS
- Competent to use Microsoft Office suite: Word‚ PowerPoint and Excel
- Interprets facts and provides explanations verbally and in writing - investigating skills needed.
- Inside/Outside Environmental Conditions
- Occasionally lifts 20 pounds and frequently lifts 10 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
