Join Takeda as an Engineer III where you will work with scientists or engineers in the process development team, under supervision or independently, to design, optimize and scale up processes with a focus on cell culture and/or purification process development.

Additionally, the position will support tech transfer of developed/locked downstream processes to pilot teams and CMOs, and technology innovation programs. Independently plan and coordinate work with departmental and cross-functional peers with an understanding of project timelines and deliverables. You will also identify complex technical issues and implement solutions. As part of the process development team, you will report to Associate Director, Process Development Downstream.

How you will contribute:

  • Works with departmental and/or cross-functional peers to execute assignments, under limited supervision.

  • Makes study plan and prepares experimental protocols in consultation with the supervisor.

  • Contributes significantly to project work which may include multiple projects within a functional area.

  • Interprets data independently, and contributes to technical reports.

  • Identifies complex technical issues, and implements solutions under supervision.

  • Contributes to the design of new applications/experiments/unit operations in consultation with the supervisor.

  • Supports technology transfer through writing and consolidating technical documents.

  • Coordinates within the department as well as cross-functionally with peers on projects.

  • Compliant with lab safety and company policies, and participates in lab management duties.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering, or related pharmaceutical science and 4+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering, or related pharmaceutical science; 2+ years relevant industry experience.

  • Master's degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering, or related pharmaceutical science; 0+ years relevant industry experience.

  • Previous experience working in a lab setting or Masters degree plus appropriate laboratory training.

  • Experience with purification technologies (e.g. Chromatography, filtration, UFDF, etc).

  • Experience with cell culture process development at different lab scales with appropriate aseptic techniques.

  • Experience with design on an experiment (DOE) is plus.

  • Occasionally work on weekends/holidays for lab support.

Base Salary Range: $ 79,800 to $ 114,000. Employees may also be eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and Paid Volunteer Time Off.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
