We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our Engineering team.
Job Description
- Lead new tooling qualifications, establish molding process parameters using varying statistical techniques (DOE, SPC, etc).
- Lead process improvement initiatives for the molding team such as cycle time reduction, material conversion, statistical capability improvements, etc.
- Lead implementation of standardized molding process limits by use of data analysis to improve control and elimination of defective product within product streams.
- Lead implementation of a standardized process for polymer characterization at manufacturing floor environment.
- Lead problem solving teams for root cause determination of part defect elimination or cost saving initiatives.
- Identifies requirements, establishes specifications, and recommends purchase of primary and secondary plastics processing machinery and equipment.
- Reviews and critiques submitted mold vendor design proposals and assures functional mold performance including Moldflow analysis and part design validation.
- Performs molding capacity, downtime, and utilization studies and determines overall equipment effectiveness.
Qualifications
- 5+ yrs. experience in Compression Molding and/or bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four (4) year college or university, preferably in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering.
Other skills and abilities
- Ability to utilize Personal Computer (PC) software including all Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to learn or utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
- Knowledge in Six Sigma Black or Green Belt with expertise in Minitab applications, preferred.
- Experience with molding machines (100-1500 tons), preferred.
- Experience with automation/robotics, preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills while working/leading in a team environment.
- Computer literate, familiar with common software (IE: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Etc.) Solid works, Moldflow, Sigmasoft, GD & T.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
