The IT Endpoint Engineer has the primary task to provide enterprise-level endpoint engineering and design through the design, engineering, configuration, administration, maintenance / support of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft Intune and Autopilot. They will be responsible for all standard endpoint system builds, modifications to the enterprise desktops/laptops and for building, testing and distributing all additional software to be installed against the standard endpoint environment. They will also provide hardware and software third level support by analyzing escalated issues and recommending individual and global solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze and evaluate existing SCCM and Intune configurations and strategy
  • Determine and implement best practices for the engineering, configuration, administration, and support of SCCM and Intune
  • Design and implement business applications/packages into the SCCM/Intune application framework and the Microsoft Company Portal
  • Assist with SCCM Windows desktop OS deployment and Intune Windows 10 deployment automated build processes, including performance tuning, and Windows Autopilot
  • Provide extensive troubleshooting in the installation and configuration of SCCM and Intune; diagnose SCCM and Intune endpoint deployment issues
  • Design and implement software packaging and patching strategies for Windows 10 and 11 endpoints
  • Provide internal team support, guidance, and mentorship with the engineering and support of SCCM and Intune as it relates to Window’s 10 and 11.
  • Develop future state strategies, roadmaps, and initiatives that are aligned with Jackson Lewis’ goals and vision; create an environment that is supportable, secure, and scalable
  • Test and evaluate Jackson Lewis’ current endpoint environment on an ongoing basis. Provide recommendations for improvements and/or changes as needed.
  • Provide hardware and software third level support through Jackson Lewis’ Incident Management processes
  • Research new technologies in the industry and develop recommendations for our future endpoint environment.
  • Test and certify new software & hardware requested by end users to verify compliance & compatibility with our standard enterprise endpoint environment.
  • Maintain competency and enhance professional growth and development through continuing education and conferences
  • Continuously improve endpoint security through our vulnerability management process and provide suggestions for new security improvements.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • This position can require possible on-call/after-hour system patching and emergency support

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • 5+ years of in-depth Microsoft SCCM and Intune endpoint engineering knowledge in design and support of systems that support 1,000+ users
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred in the fields of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or other IT-related area
  • Extensive knowledge of computer/network systems infrastructure requirements and standards, standard software packages and patch deployment methodologies.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Conditional Access with Intune.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office365 as it relates to client service impact, app integration and issue resolution.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Windows Autopilot, Windows Update for Business, and Windows Hello for Business.
  • Strong scripting knowledge in PowerShell.
  • Experience managing mobile devices such as iOS, iPadOS, and Android using Intune.
  • Experience managing Mac computers with Jamf is a plus.
  • Experience with ATP, Endpoint Security and reporting within MEM(ASR, CFA, EDR etc)
  • Familiarity with packaging concepts
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with minimal error and guidance
  • Exceptional customer service skills including verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with an ability to understand the long-term ("big picture")
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Provide excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to find probable cause for issues in a timely fashion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • One or more of the following certifications is strongly preferred: Microsoft MCSE Certification
  • Ability to initiate new processes and/or enhance existing process
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to lead cross-functional teams in a collaborative way
  • Windows Server, Security and Network systems – Windows 2008, 2012 and 2016 Server OS, Active Directory
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and use of issue/problem tracking systems. Service-Now experience is a plus
