Your Role and Responsibilities
You will be joining a team of researchers focused on helping academic, industry, and research partners utilize IBM Quantum’s leading quantum computing hardware and software solutions in a variety of business and research domains. As an Enabling Technologies Applications Researcher, you will play an essential role in driving Partner adoption of IBM Quantum services for quantum applications around the globe. You will be responsible for helping Partners utilize the full stack of IBM Quantum hardware and software services via training, technical demonstrations, characterization and validation of services, software tool creation, and research highlighting / exploring IBM Quantum capabilities as they relate to one or more application domains. Team members are expected to be well-versed in using IBM Quantum services and are expected to be competent with new and updated services as they come online.

This position is located in Yorktown Heights, NY Lab.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Ph.D. in physics, computer science, chemistry, engineering, or similar educational background
• Domain specific knowledge in one or more quantum applications areas e.g., machine learning, quantum simulation, life sciences, or optimization
• Working knowledge of quantum computing as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and/or open-source software contributions (e.g., Github / Gitlab projects and Pull requests)
• In depth experience using IBM Quantum systems and the Qiskit SDK
• Proficient written and oral communication skills in English
• Experience with client facing technical presentations

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience working on open-source software projects and using version control tools
• Comfort working in both team-based and independent environments

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
