AllianceOne is currently seeking a Talented Professional to add to our team:
Position: Employee Relations Specialist
Location: Maumee, OH
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for employee investigations, analyzing the data collected, and creating action plans for organizational response. This will be coupled with a focus on Employee Engagement and leading our Corporate Social Responsibility Program called Citizens of the World (COTW).
- Act as Point of Contact for handling employee relations-related inquiries from employees that have been initially worked by their direct manager or management chain. First contact for situations of Harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, or hostile work environment
- Investigate escalations of internal employee complaints of unfair treatment, harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, or hostile work environment. Documentation of investigation findings, recommendations, and partnering with internal HR Team, supervisors and managers collaborating with the appropriate response to resolve complex and/or sensitive matters.
- Ask questions to assure that all perspectives of situations are being viewed and considered.
- Provide coaching as necessary.
- Perform analysis on ER trends, partner with HR team and Leaders plan strategic org changes to o address trends.
- Handle all Leaves of Absence intake, review, approval and reinstatement of employees.
- Lead internal team on corporate social responsibility program COTW. This responsibility includes coordinating monthly meetings, receiving and implementing monthly outcomes from all locations in the US, Canada and Jamaica into the CSR portal.
- Champion Employee Engagement for all US and Canada employees
- Partner with internal HR team on specialized projects, and support the strategic goals and mission/vision/values of AllianceOne
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and specific Training
- Minimum: HS Diploma, Bachelor Degree Preferred
- Additional coursework in Human Resources, a benefit
Work experience
- 2+ years HR experience
- 2+ years of employee relations experience preferred
Special Certifications
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP a plus
Technical Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite Products
- HRIS, Workday preferred
- Internet

- Ability to read, analyze and interpret human resource information and legal documents
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to all levels of employees as well as clients and other public groups
