Braun Northwest, Inc. (BNW) is now hiring for an Emergency Response Vehicle Designer/CAD in Chehalis, WA.

The schedule is Monday-Friday, 40hrs per week with a start time between 6:00am and 7:00am. This position is overtime eligible. The compensation for this position is $20-$26/hr DOE/DOQ.

Braun Northwest is looking for the right candidate to fill our open Designer positions. These positions are responsible for the overall design of vehicles which includes the preparation of accurate drawings used by the production process to build custom emergency vehicles. These positions can be filled, depending on skills and abilities of the candidate, at any one of our three levels available (entry, mid or senior designer). Required qualifications and applicable wage will depend on the level of proficiency the right candidate brings to the table!

We are looking for the entry level candidate to:

• Must be competent in the use of AutoCAD.
• Prepare sales drawings, assembly drawings, as-built drawings, and parts drawings in AutoCAD based upon marked up drawings, sketches, or bid specifications.
• For Fabrication books, develop design details based upon specifications, drawings and notes.
• Once drawings are complete and sent to production, monitor the build process and resolve any issues as they occur.
• Ability to work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
• Ability to quickly learn new software.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Mid or senior level designer positions build upon our entry level designer.

For positions filled at the entry level – we are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

Required Education:

Completion of Drafting/Design or Engineering Tech program from an accredited school or college or equivalent training or experience.

OR

Three years relevant experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge and skills.

Knowledge Requirements:

• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of AutoCAD.
• Ability to translate design ideas into buildable plans.
• Ability to recognize the impacts of design changes on every aspect of a production plan set.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience using Autodesk Inventor.
• Mechanical and or auto body experience.
• Manufacturing.
• Sheet metal.
