Electronic & Instrumentation Technician Job at Sofidel America
Sofidel America of Haines City, FL is looking for an Electronic & Instrumentation Technician to join our dynamic team. This role ensures professional and technical expertise to improve the efficiency of our operational systems, improve the quality of our products, and find more cost-effective ways to meet these goals while reducing costs. Perform duties to ensure that all electrical and instrumentation maintenance is performed; replace and repair components and parts as needed, program monitoring systems, and troubleshoot errors to keep the plant in safe and efficient operating condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use the appropriate tools and software to troubleshoot and diagnose the root cause of electrical issues in the facility.
- Troubleshoot and test the functionality of process instrumentation; flow meters, level transmitters, level switches…etc.
- Work with internal and external resources to resolve issues as quickly and effectively as possible.
- Interpret electrical schematics and user manuals.
- PLC/DCS programming, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Repair electrical and electronic systems including any electromechanical production equipment.
- Collect PLC input and output data to monitor the efficiency of equipment to assist in the planning of future conversion operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance plans and work orders.
- Train others on technical content (especially as it relates to electrical subsystems).
- Continually seek out opportunities for process improvements.
- Assist and consult with the management/engineering on projects as needed.
- Adhere to safe work practices, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
- Manage and work with contractors and vendors to monitor and improve efficiency and output.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment.
Job Requirements:
- 2-year certification from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics.
- Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or Automation/Engineering preferred.
- Three years of strong industrial electrical background in a manufacturing environment.
