ELECTRICIAN I Job at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center
The Electrician I is responsible for inspecting, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and circuits. Must perform demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to primarily include Electrical and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environment.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates ability to perform electrical skill sets.
Performs inspections, maintenance and repair while providing a safe environment for patients, team members and visitors.
Reports failed equipment, major failures and equipment malfunctions, need for shutdowns and other concerns to department supervisor immediately upon discovery.
Maintains electrical related equipment and procedure documentation manuals and supplies this information to the supervisor.
Perform troubleshooting and problem solving maintenance duties for electrical and associated systems and equipment according to standards established by management team.
Demonstrates technical knowledge depth for electrical and associated systems according to standards established by management team. Can identify: types of electrical components, functionality and usage, types of electrical specific tools and how to use them, electrical specific materials and their application, basic math skills.
Performs general maintenance repairs and other duties as assigned as referenced in Unit Specific Competency Check List and performs any work assignment in conjunction with the skill sets required of the job, not necessarily within craft line.
Responds to emergency situations including disaster response, power I other utilities loss, floods, etc. to limit effect to facility.
Demonstrates knowledge of components and functionality for a basic electrical system.
Ensures that all work is performed using the proper PPE to ensure a safe environment including Arc Flash. Demonstrates proficiency in the ability to perform basic power and hand tool skills. Demonstrates knowledge and use of power tools utilized in construction trades; uses power tools safely and properly maintains power tools.
Responsible for safe and proper operation as noted in Unit Specific Competency Check.
Maintains accurate, clear and concise documentation for equipment problems and failures including but not limited to work order completion in work order program.
Demonstrates the ability to use maintenance equipment including hand-held power tools, computers for building automation and computerized maintenance management systems, and to resource with others effectively.
Performs basic infection prevention procedures.
Identifies changes that are needed on all prints and notifies supervisor when changes are made to existing spaces and new projects.
Identifies and understands blueprint terms, components and symbols; relates prints to actual locations; recognizes classifications of drawings; interprets, uses plan dimensions. Uses floor plans to locate walls, parts of buildings; calculates distances on prints. Reads and interprets schematics, and performs general mechanical repairs. Work from blueprint and estimates small projects.
Assists with, oversees and/or inspects repairs or modifications performed by contractors. Can identify different specific tools and their application.
Demonstrates knowledge of system components and functionality such as: stretchers, wheelchairs, constant speed pumps, medical gas outlets and compressors.
Manages individual inventory following departmental inventory management and control parameters. Demonstrates safe work practices, compliance with OSHA requirements, effective communication, and customer service skills.
Demonstrates management skills such as planning, coordination, estimating, and scheduling skills. Demonstrates troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Credentials and Experience:
High School diploma/GED
Three (3) Years as an Electrical Service Related Technician is required. Ability to work various work shifts and/or weekends as needed
Ability to travel between other Moffitt Cancer Center facilities
Evidence of a good driving record and maintain a good record per Moffitt policy
Valid Drivers License required, must obtain Florida Driver's License within 6 months of employment.
