Our ReVision Energy Engineering Team is currently looking for an individual who is excited to be on the front lines of solar s rapid growth to expand our ability to connect with our customers through the Electrical Engineer I position.

Annual Salary starting at $72,000.

Job Summary:

The Junior Electrical Engineer will work closely with the Senior Electrical Engineer and other members of the ReVision Energy Engineering team on the design and interconnection of commercial and utility scale distributed energy resources (DER) and electric vehicle charging infrastructure projects. The Junior EE s primary role will be to support the Senior Electrical Engineer in design, specification, analysis, and protection relay programming work.

This is a hybrid role, working in our South Portland office completing site visits 2-3 days a week and the remainder of the week remote. This is a full time, salaried position, with an EIT (engineer-in-training) opportunity towards earning a Professional Engineer license.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Review and interpret utility interconnection documentation, system impact studies (SIS) and support the DER design process to meet these requirements.
  • Attend and provide input in project-specific utility scoping meetings
  • Review and specify project-specific electrical equipment
  • Multi-function relay programming
  • Electric Power System modeling
    • Short Circuit studies
    • Load flow studies
    • Arc Flash studies
    • Coordination studies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of three-phase electrical calculations
  • Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Familiarity with medium voltage equipment and overhead line equipment such as circuit breakers, air break switches, transformers, etc.
  • Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree (Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • Microsoft Suite, specifically excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering or Electrical Enginering Technology degree with educational focus on electrical power systems
  • Experience using electric power system modeling software, such as EasyPower or equivalent.
  • Experience with MathCAD or equivalent tools for complex number and matrix calculations
  • Familiarity with DER design, common interconnection challenges and mitigation strategies
  • Familiarity with multi-function relay operation and programming
  • Familiarity with common SCADA protocols such as DNP3
  • AutoCAD
  • Ability to troubleshoot field electrical equipment
