Job description:

Our company is looking for an electrical engineer to join our team. In this position, you are responsible for locating, marking, and documenting underground utility lines. The majority of the work being performed will be in the field and require strong research skills in order to find various utilities efficiently. Direct experience with electrical utilities, located above ground and underground, is preferable, but not mandatory for this position. The chosen candidate will work in parallel with a utility locating company that will be performing the positive identification portion of the work.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other qualifying ABET accredited program

• Ability to read main and MCC single-line diagrams and associated distribution systems
• Proficient in the comprehension of electrical power distribution systems (above ground and underground utilities)
• Working production software skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD
• Abiity to maintain an update current as-built drawing database
• Strong research skills
• Strong communication skills
• Work collaboratively with project teams
• Work in compliance with company policies

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in the design of electrical power distribution systems (above ground and underground utilities)
• Design of distribution routes and develop physical layouts of an electrical system
• Basic knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70)
• Utility or surveying experience
• Experience working on federal projects
• Ability to communicate project status to various internal and external parties
• Direct experience with electrical utilities, located above ground and underground, is preferable, but not mandatory for this position

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $46.13 - $88.58 per hour
