The Electrical Controls Technician ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of pipeline facilities relative to the assigned discipline(s). The incumbent receives technical direction from Region technical staff and works closely with pipeline/plant personnel, technicians in the same or other subject areas and contract personnel.
The incumbent ensures compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), through adherence to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
What you will do:
  • This role is expected to work with significant independence on standard assignments. As well, the role may be required to assist with more complex tasks requiring guidance by Trades III/IV or Coordinator/Supervisor.
  • Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of Enbridge Safety Policies and Procedures and act in accordance with them at all times.
  • Learns the operation of more complex equipment and procedures.
  • May participate in design reviews.
  • Ensures that all pertinent records are accurate, current and that preventative maintenance schedules are timely.
  • Judgment required in assessing that a situation is safe to perform the work required and the most effective way of carrying out the work.
Who you are:
You have:
  • An associate degree in a relevant technical field, such as, Electrical/Controls, Electrical Engineering or Controls Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
You can:
  • Demonstrate Six (6) years of experience as a Technician OR the equivalent experience necessary to perform required tasks of Technician Level 3 on a stand-alone basis.
You are:
  • Residence Requirement: Within 30 miles of assigned location
The following are considered assets:
  • Candidates with 3-5 years of experience preferred
