LOCATION: Red Cliff Family and Human Services Division

SALARY: $18.00-$19.00 per hour, 40 hours per week, Plus benefits.

SUPERVISOR(S): Family and Human Services Administrator

THIS IS A REGULAR FULL-TIME EXEMPT POSITION

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overall operations of the elderly programs which include: Nutrition site, Transportation services, Bayfield County Meals, and Transportation, Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA), Nutrition Services Incentive Program(NSIP), Family Caregiver Support Program, Aging and Disability Resource Specialist (ADRS) and any additional program serving the elderly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the overall operation and supervision of the Red Cliff Tribe’s elderly programs(including Older Americans Act, Title VI and Title III) Aging and Disability Resource Specialist (ADRS) and personnel.
  • Will be responsible for development of budgets, reports (narrative and financial), correspondence, etc. to funding sources.
  • Coordinate activities for elders such as fund raising, nutrition education, meetings, referral activities, health needs, etc.
  • Prepare grant and renewal applications on a timely basis, as well as seek additional funding sources.
  • Serve as a referral service for Bayfield County Aging to bring assistance to our tribal elders in need.
  • The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: The nutrition staff and volunteers, the transportation and meal delivery drivers, and Aging and Disability Resource Specialist.

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of administrative, managerial, and supervisory principles and practices including budgeting, planning, program management and evaluation and employee supervision. Knowledge of programs and needs of older adults and disabled adults and ways of providing services to those populations. Must be knowledgeable of Native American tribes and the uniqueness of the Red Cliff community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative position with previous experience in a supervisory capacity and budget/program management.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Must be able to relate to and advocate elderly needs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle and appropriate vehicle coverage and maintain driver’s eligibility as a condition of employment. Be eligible to be put on the tribe’s vehicle insurance policy.
  • SafeServe certified within 60 days of hire.
  • Fill in when Elderly staff are absent.

PERSONAL CONTACTS: Daily contact with clients, Bayfield County aging, Ashland County aging, Northern Area Agency on Aging in Rhinelander (Title III), Administration on Aging (AOA) Chicago and Washington D.C. (Title VI), Wisconsin Association of Nutrition Directors (WAND) Madison, Bureau of Aging and Long-Term Care Madison, Various state agencies from throughout Wisconsin, and Tribal Aging units from all around Wisconsin.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Individual will require standing, bending, lifting techniques for assisting elders into/out of vehicles, and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Elderly Office located in the Family and Human Service Building. Secondary workplaces are the transportation vehicles and conducting home on-site visits for assessment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel is required to attend trainings and meetings; overnight and out of town, both locally & nationally.
