Davis-Standard has an immediate opening for an EHS Manager supporting the Fulton, NY plant and work stream.
Job Description
A successful incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing Environmental, Safety and Health programs and activities. This will help to ensure the building, work environment and employees are maintained in a safe and secure manner in accordance to established policies and state and federal regulations. The EHS Manager will interpret and assess complex environmental and safety regulations and issues. This position will focus on maintaining and enhancing the safety of the Davis-Standard’s facility and employees. This position will also evaluate work procedures and processes to make sure that they align with industry standards and best practices. Additionally, this position will direct and oversee activities to ensure compliance with local, state and federal EHS policies and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the activities of the EHS initiatives and manages the implementation, certification, and maintenance of ISO 14001 and 45001.
  • Conducts internal audits of facility to ensure compliance with EHS Audit and implement corrective/preventive actions by working with supervision and external resources
  • Hosts ISO audits for 14001 and 45001 to ensure certification is maintained.
  • Directs the activities of outside consultants, vendors and contractors on various EHS projects
  • Writes, Updates, and Maintains all EHS related standard operating procedures
  • Conducts training to standard operating procedures to minimize non-compliance
  • Serves as company liaison with regulatory agencies and interfaces with representatives during site inspections. Maintains safety supplies and budget
  • In areas of direct responsibility, administers the plant safety programs, ensures that OSHA standards are met and that the physical areas of the facility meet current EHS requirements.
  • Works to prevent accidents by maintaining safe working conditions, ensures that proper training is provided and enforces use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Ensures that employee accidents are immediately investigated and reports timely completed and submitted
  • Complete all OSHA related reporting, and internal safety reporting and surveys are administered in conjunction with Human Resources
  • Establishes and maintains sound relations with employees, handles complaints, and ensures safe working conditions for all
  • Be the company’s representative with QC in lock out use and removal
  • Company representative for lock out tag out policies/procedures and compliance
  • Dispense of controlled waste from facility and processes

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience to manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interface and communicate goals effectively with cross-functional groups and lead multiple, complex projects and teams
  • Experience creating, implementing, maintaining and improving both Environmental, as well as Health & Safety programs for the Fulton Facility
  • Demonstrate understanding of personnel impact to Davis-Standard business values and goals
  • Deep knowledge of plant regulatory requirements for environmental, health and safety programs
