Large Neurology practice seeks full time certified EEG technologist.
Monday-Friday schedule, flexible Saturday's and evening's. Background in Evoked potentials, EEG's, NCV's a plus.
Possible travel to satellite locations (Islip & Riverhead)
Job Requirements:
- Operates EEG equipment to take electroencephalographic tracings.
- Applies electrodes on predetermined measured positions on patient’s head and checks performance; obtains standard recordings, recognizing artifacts and taking appropriate steps to eliminate them.
- Records all abnormal clinical appearances.
- Uses activating procedures such as hyperventilation, photic stimulation and sleep.
- Monitors other variables such as electromyograms, electrocardiograms.
- Calibrates and adjusts EEG equipment, keeps equipment and exam rooms clean.
- Detects instrument malfunctions and makes maintenance adjustments or report major repairs.
- Review patient chart for physicians orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Must be ABRET board certified in Electroencephalography (R. EEGT)
Additional years of experience performing EEG studies.
