Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
The Education Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the daily administrative functions related to The Smith Center’s education and outreach programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for education and outreach programs, including but not limited to:
- Student Matinee Performances
- Camp Broadway
- Southern Nevada Wolf Trap
- Nevada High School Musical Theater Awards
- Disney Musicals in Schools
- Master Classes
- Professional Development
- Sensory Inclusive Performances
- In-School Performances
- Heart of Education
- Track and organize the receipt of education and outreach program registrations, invoices, applications, release forms, surveys, and other paperwork, sending reminders to participants as needed.
- Track program data for use in fundraising and institutional communications.
- Communicate program information across departments as needed.
- Maintain education and outreach contact database and program timelines.
- Organize education photo/video assets.
- Assist with booking department travel.
- Prepare and track invoices and assist with monthly credit card reconciliation.
- Enter and maintain data in Tessitura system.
- Provide exemplary customer service for all internal and external needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position
Required Education, and Experience
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree required; Degree in a performing arts related field or equivalent experience is a plus
- Work experience in education and/or with a non-profit organization at the administrative level preferred
Required Skills & Qualifications

- Demonstrated interested in serving young people through the arts
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Fluent in English; Fluency or proficiency in Spanish is a plus
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal oversight
- Must maintain superior attention to detail
- Desire to work as a team player and assist when and where needed
- Ability to generate, examine and evaluate data and report findings
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Drive, Google Forms
Other Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work nights and weekends according to event and programming schedules
- Desire and ability to accept all levels of challenges
- Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Exhibit a professional appearance
- Maintain a dependable, professional, and courteous office environment
Physical Job Requirements
- This position will require sitting for long periods, standing, bending, and walking, as well as using fine motor skills, such as finger dexterity for typing.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 40lbs or more
- This position could be exposed to loud noises, and frequent phone conversations, and requires average to above average visual acuity and hearing.
