Institutional Marketing has an exciting opportunity for a copy editor who can use their attention to detail, devotion to quality, and wordsmithing ingenuity to make sure that everything we produce delivers strong business results. You’ll support fast-paced work across the department.


In this role, you’ll be part of a creative team including writers, content strategists, and design strategists who ensure we keep our IIG clients informed and engaged—and also help identify and win potential prospects.
We’re looking for crew who are passionate about continuous improvement and can bring clarity and humanity to our marketing materials.

Core Responsibilities

1. Maintains a working knowledge of Vanguard funds, Vanguard products and services, the financial markets, and investment planning issues.

2. Assists with content development by researching subject matter and collaborating with other crew and external experts as needed.

3. Organizes and formats edited content to ensure a smooth flow. Writes content as needed.

4. Ensures that proper regulatory hedge clauses and copyright marks appear on each piece. May evaluate pieces for FINRA and intellectual property compliance.

5. Detects any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors in original copies. Corrects all grammar, punctuation, spelling, content, and other errors.

6. Evaluates copy for Vanguard style, accuracy, and format.

7. Checks facts and verifies that changes and corrections made by others are successfully implemented in the final version of print and electronic materials.

8. Assumes leadership responsibilities for coaching and training new members of the group and serving as a resource for style issues and questions.

9. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum three years related work experience.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Please note that this position will be part of our hybrid model which will require the individual to work in our Malvern office three days a week and remotely the other two days.

When our Crew return to the office, many will work in our hybrid model. A smaller proportion of our crew will operate in the Work from Home work model (for example, field sales crew); or in the Work from Office model (for example, portfolio managers).
