The Early Talent Inclusion and Diversity Manager is responsible for designing, developing and executing multiple programs and initiatives in support of attracting, engaging and hiring diverse candidates to meet early in career business demands. The scope of this role will evolve overtime, but key aspects of ownership will include activating an on-campus presence, elevating our partnership footprint with our diversity partners and reshaping the way to drive candidate attraction and engagement. This individual is accountable for developing new relationships while maintaining multiple key internal and external client relationships across the sphere of influence.

Focused on building university relationships, the I&D Manager will support the North America Early Talent team in recruiting diverse talent across multiple Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) prioritizing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI).

This position will be focused on driving our recruiting and sourcing pipelines for our diversity and early in career engagement initiatives.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Designs overarching Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), prioritizing Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic Service Institutions (HSI) recruitment strategy for Early Talent team, driving cross team alignment on timelines, recruitment process and engagement activities.
  • Owns the development, implementation and execution of HBCU/HSI strategic recruiting and marketing efforts focused on diversity and inclusion.
  • Establishes and fosters strategic relationships with key stakeholders at MSIs (university leadership, faculty, career center staff, student organizations, etc).
  • Builds brand awareness of Mars Inc, building proactive sourcing pipelines into internship and early in career full-time pipelines, and transforming awareness of Mars as an employer of choice for students.
  • Responsible for standing up Early ID programs.
  • Ensures representation at campus events, developing and growing brand affinity on campus.
  • Identifies and collaborates with student organizations and faculty that will support our recruitment strategy.
  • Owns keep warm strategy for diverse hires, keeping a strong touch point between offer and join date, as well as through their internship and intern conversion experiences. Tracking frequency of touchpoints in database.
  • Establishes success metrics for diversity focused initiatives and regularly reports against those metrics. Tracks, reports and delivers outcomes to determine value of investments and future activation opportunities.
  • Can stand alone and influence senior business leaders on our Early Talent strategy, the value we are delivering, status against critical metrics and gain buy in on our future activation plans
  • Manages business requests for MSI Campus initiatives, balancing Early Talent priorities with business led initiatives. Builds relationships and serves as the point-of-contact for Mars Associate Resource Groups and Equity Inclusion & Diversity Leads.
  • Research best practices for full life cycle recruitment programs, with a focus on diversity and inclusion. Proactively shares market and competitive intelligence to inform talent, business, and organizational design decisions
  • High degree of data mining, pulling in external and internal data resources (Workday reports, Power BI, internal data files), to create a strategy based on insights and consistency of report-outs to leaders.
  • Plans, coordinates, and leads the execution of all logistical elements for programs and conferences including interviewing efforts (i.e., establishes schedule, coordinates panelist schedules, prepares interviewing materials) and candidate pipelining. Must be able to manage high degree of details within a robust project plan in excel/gaant charts.
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities to event management and recruitment processes in support of national (local, regional) efforts
  • Manage heavy project-based workload, in addition to everyday volume
  • Reviews, sourcing pipelines, resumes and applications to assess against entry-level profile; reviews paperwork to ensure feedback is documented appropriately and meets EEO guidelines.
  • Serves as primary information resource for candidates throughout the conference and interview process – communicates status, answers questions, extends offers, coordinates all follow-up effort. Enters recruit information into candidate management system and ATS.

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Experience in university recruitment, specifically in building and maintaining relationships with universities
  • Experience recruiting and building relationships with Minority Serving Institutions
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with students, faculty and university leadership at multiple MSIs
  • Analytical and able to make data driven insights to provide recommendations to continually evolve and enhance the Early Talent function.
  • Strong project management and the ability to quickly master internal and external systems and platforms (Workday, Phenom People, HireVue, Handshake,etc)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and presence; comfort dealing with all levels of the organization
  • Exhibits creativity, agility, willingness to drive change and make it happen
  • Willingness and desire to travel frequently
