The basic role of an Infant & Toddler Specialist is to provide a safe, supervised and successful educational setting for very young children enrolled in SWCAP Early Head Start. Most work occurs in the childcare classroom, but includes supervision in outdoor play areas and while on field trips. The Infant & Toddler Specialist works with very young children and their families to develop individual goals for each child, provide ongoing progress assessment and reporting, and facilitate the child’s transition into Head Start or other preschool settings.
